Novena to the Blessed Catherine Tekakwitha

First Day

Dearest virgin Catherine Tekakwitha, daughter of the Mother of holiness, I kneel before you to obtain for me the strength to walk in your presence. This is my prayer for begging this favour ______
Pray nine “Hail Mary” for each of the nine consecutive hours in her honour (while fasting during the same nine hours).

Second Day

O Catherine Tekakwitha, He protected you with His blessings from the womb. Obtain for me His protection as He protected you with His divine protection. This I ask of you, O Catherine Tekakwitha.

Third Day

O Catherine Tekakwitha, the actual thorns that you had taken to do penance were only a symbol of the interior thorns that were meant to torment your soul. Help me to overcome the thorns placed before me by giving me the patience in this suffering as you accepted your suffering with great patience. This I ask of you, my dear Catherine Tekakwitha.

Fourth Day

Dearest Catherine Tekakwitha, you were blessed with charity because you had strived to imitate the charity of the divine Son of the Mother of God. I ask you to strengthen my will to imitate your charity such I shall be rewarded by my Father, who sees in secret.

Fifth Day

O precious Catherine Tekakwitha, your heart was pierced with sorrow by your sins and burnt yourself to be the slave of our Saviour. I beg you to obtain for me the forgiveness of all my sins and the graces to serve Him most faithfully as from today and the grace to praise Him with you forever in heaven.

Sixth Day

O blessed Catherine Tekakwitha, your chastity was the most beautiful flower of your crown, deliver me from the worldly temptations that will offend God and to keep me obedient to the faith. I humbly ask of you, ever-blessed Catherine Tekakwitha.

Seventh Day

O spouse of Jesus Christ, the Heart of Jesus and your heart merged into one after your First Holy Communion. Obtain for us that our hearts may be enkindled with a stronger desire to imitate your innocence and faith through the same Jesus Christ. Grant us this, O Catherine Tekakwitha.

Eighth Day

O daughter of the Mother of God, your devotion to the Father was constant and having suffered on the Cross with Jesus Christ and followed His example from dying on the Cross. I ask you to obtain for me the grace to be constant in devotion to my Father with all my heart, my soul and with my entire mind.

Ninth Day

O God, who has received much glory from her existence, we are most thankful to You for the graces given to Catherine Tekakwitha throughout her life. Grant us, who we rejoice in having her in this world, the happiness of seeing her face in heaven together with her Spouse, Jesus Christ, and her Mother, the Most Blessed Virgin Mary.
